Opportunities

Interested in a career in plant ecology? Want to work with some of the most knowledgeable and respected leaders in the field? Or are you just interested in learning more about the world around us? PEL is always looking for eager participants of all levels to join our group. We seek help at many degrees of study, experience, and expertise:

-Volunteers to help document vegetation of North and South Carolina on our annual CVS PULSE.

-Undergraduate assistants for our graduate student researchers in field study sites throughout the region.

Herbarium assistants to work on our efforts to inventory and preserve plants from all over the world.

-Join the North Carolina Botanical Garden and investigate many of its projects and efforts.

-Graduate student opportunities to develop and perform individual research and collaborate with other members of the lab, offering MS or PhD degrees in Biology or Ecology.

-Visiting scholars and post-docs to develop research interests and projects with our group.

Contact our faculty with questions or interest in any of these opportunities!
